It's the moment you've all been waiting for, PITTSBURGH HAS AN NBA FRANCHISE! That's right, the Pittsburgh Phantoms are the newest expansion team to join the NBA. The team will play their home games right here in downtown Pittsburgh in PPG Paints Arena. Be sure to purchase your tickets to our home opener against the Milwaukee Bucks on October 18th. Inaugural T-shirts will be placed on the seats for all fans in attendance, as our gift to you.

PPG Paints Arena Welcomes Phantoms to Pittsburgh​​

Civic Arena will now be home to more than just NHL and AFL teams. The facility will now play host to the newest NBA expansion team. During his time as commissioner, Adam Stern had mentioned bringing an expansion team back to Pittsburgh to play in the newly constructed Consol Energy Center, later renamed PPG Paints Arena. The Phantoms will play in the Eastern Conference.
